Rodrigo Márquez Lartigue is a diplomat from México with extensive experience in consular affairs in the United States. Currently, he is enjoying a leave of absence. In September 2020, he started the Consular and Public Diplomacies blog. 

He graduated from the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City with a B.A. in International Affairs. He studied three master's degrees from Ohio University (M.A. International Affairs / Southeast Asia Studies), Instituto Matías Romero (M.A. in Diplomatic Studies), and the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University (Global Master of Arts Program). 

Márquez Lartigue has been assigned to Mexico’s Consulates in Boston, Massachusetts and Saint Paul, Minnesota. He also worked in the Asia-Pacific, North American Affairs, and Consular Protection of Mexicans Abroad departments at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mexico.

He is interested in consular, public and gastro diplomacies; migration issues; U.S. government and relationship with Mexico; East and Southeast Asia; and national identity.

Márquez Lartigue has taken public diplomacy courses offered by several institutions around the world.
