Dr. Eriks Varpahovskis is an associate professor (Docent) at the National Research University Higher School of Economics. Eriks served as an Associate Research Fellow at OSCE Academy. While holding the Global Korea Scholarship, Eriks received a Ph.D. in Political Science from the Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in 2019. Eriks is an established scholar with multiple publications in internationally recognized academic outlets such as Journal of Eurasian Studies, Politics & Policy, Asia Pacific Journal of Education and others. Among his research interests are the mechanisms of public diplomacy, soft power, cultural security, politics of transnational higher education and others.
