Teachers from Around World Learning How to Narrow Gender Gap

The African continent has the world’s highest rate of girls leaving school to marry at a young age. Schools in Asian countries such as Laos have less female enrollment because society considers men the breadwinners and women the housekeepers. Mazanec: A Czech Easter Tradition Fighting To Survive In The U.S.

Mazanec is a sweet bread with rum-soaked raisins and dried fruit and topped with slivered almonds. It's round with a cross on top, to represent Christ. And it is eaten throughout the Holy Week. [...] Pavla Velickinova, the head of the public diplomacy department at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Washington, D.C., says mazanec is one of the oldest documented Easter foods in Czech history.

Europe is Still a Superpower

Many view Europe as a spent force in global politics. Conventional wisdom states that world politics today is unipolar, with the United States as the sole superpower. Or perhaps it is multipolar, with China, India, and the rest rising to challenge Western powers. Either way, Europe's role is secondary - and declining. The European Union, it is said, is too weak to avoid withering away in the face of Russian subversion, mass migration, right-wing revolt, British plans to leave, slow growth, and anemic defense spending.

Saudi Arabia’s First Japanese Orchestra Concert Wows Riyadh Audience

Minister of Culture and Information Adel Al-Toraifi opened the first Japanese full orchestra concert in Saudi Arabia on Thursday night here at King Fahad Cultural Center. The concert was organized as part of a Saudi-Japan music exchange program, under the patronage of the Saudi Ministry of Culture and Information and the Embassy of Japan.

Eritrea: Public Diplomacy Activities of Nationals

Eritrean nationals residing in different cities in Italy held public diplomacy activities. At the congress in which over 600 members participated, two years activity report was presented and a new executive committee elected. Likewise, Eritreans residing in the cities of Napoli, Palermo, Catania and Bari conducted seminars on the objective situation in the homeland and the role of Eritrean nationals residing in the Diaspora.

A Bush-Obama Alliance is Needed to Protect PEPFAR

Medical diplomacy is the kind of foreign policy tool that the world’s most powerful nation should embrace. [...] Nations such as the United States that have the financial and logistical ability to respond to these epidemics should accept their moral responsibility to do so. In the case of the United States, “America first” does not mean “America only.” Spending a tiny fraction of this country’s wealth to save lives should be done without a second thought.
