Tourists Prefer Jerusalem to London and Paris
Tourists just love Jerusalem, making the Holy City one of their most preferred destinations, according to Travel + Leisure magazine. In an annual poll of its online readers, the capital was ranked the 17th best tourist destination in the world, thus surpassing London, Paris, and Barcelona, three popular hubs which did not crack the top 20.
Chavez, Allies Wear Out South American Welcome

Prospects for Cuban performances by the New York Philharmonic look promising following a tour of concert halls and meetings with music officials on the island, orchestra president Zarin Mehta said Sunday. Mehta said the trip looks promising, with tentative plans for performances on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1 at the 900-seat Teatro Amadeo Roldan, a renovated concert hall a few blocks from the Malecon coastal highway.
With Obama in Moscow, Voice of America Russian Reporters Saw Their Work Vanish
The Russians could not learn from the Voice of America about President Obama’s speeches in which he talked about human rights and media freedom issues in Russia. These speeches were not carried live by the Kremlin-controled national TV and radio networks and did not receive wide coverage from independent media outlets, few of which still remain.
