The Humpty Dumpty Institute Distributes Over 180,000 Pairs of TOMS Shoes to School Children in Vietnam

The Humpty Dumpty Institute (HDI), along with its local Vietnamese partner, Project RENEW, is pleased to announce that it has distributed over 180,000 pairs of new TOMS shoes to children in 260 schools across Quang Tri Province in central Vietnam. [...] Humpty Dumpty's past programs have removed landmines and unexploded bombs, provided food to the hungry, delivered health care efficiently to the sick and impoverished, provided literacy and education to women and girls, improved animal conservation efforts and expanded public and cultural diplomacy.

What Brazil Contributes To The International Liberal Order

Brazil, because of its largely peaceful history and its geostrategic isolation, has relied far more on soft power (the power of attraction) than on hard power (the power to compel) to advance its global interests. Because of this, Brazil will not be able (nor shows any desire) to compel the incumbent powers to accept the changes it wants in the present international order.

Crunch Time for Washington and Beijing in the South China Sea

Former U.S. officials and analysts say the State Department will launch a public diplomacy campaign after the ruling is handed down, arguing that it is a landmark decision that can set an example for the peaceful resolution of disputes both in Southeast Asia and beyond. “I think the U.S. strategy is to encourage as many countries as possible to come out in favor of the court and to encourage China to abide by it,” said Glaser of CSIS.
