KEEP READINGAnnouncing 3 New CPD Student Fellows
CPD is pleased to announce the selection of Nicole Burnett, Katherine Butler and Austin Maddox as CPD Student Fellows for the 2018-19 academic year.
Midwesterner Nicole (Nikki) Burnett will join the Master of Public Diplomacy program at USC Annenberg by way of Washington, D.C., where she has been working at strategic communications firm CLS Strategies since graduating from American University with a B.A. in international studies and a minor in anthropology. She'll assist with CPD publications, PD Hub content and research.
Virginia Tech alumna, varsity tennis player and globetrotter Katherine Butler is entering the Master of Strategic Public Relations program at USC Annenberg after interning for a PR firm and with a Virginia House of Delegates campaign. At CPD, she'll be responsible for developing and implementing marketing plans promoting CPD's activities and tracking digital analytics.
Double Trojan Austin Maddox will pursue a Master of Science in Journalism at USC Annenberg after working on Sony Pictures Television's Diverse Directors Program and in the multicultural public relations branch of Terry Hines & Associates in Los Angeles. Her work at CPD will include developing and distributing cross-platform multimedia content on a variety of global affairs topics.
"It is wonderful to have such a talented group of incoming student fellows who share our vision and are committed to exploring the future of their respective fields of public diplomacy, public relations and journalism," said CPD Director Jay Wang.
The three students will be joining CPD Student Fellow Kerry Velez (MPD Class of 2019) as well as a veteran group of dedicated student interns at the Center.
About the CPD Student Fellowship Program
This program was established in 2014 to help recruit the best students to USC. It provides funding for outstanding graduate students to pursue their studies and work at CPD developing, conducting and promoting our various projects.
