The USC Center on Public Diplomacy is now accepting applications for the 2013 CPD Summer Institute in Public Diplomacy, which runs from July 21 - August 2.
During this unique, two-week program, practitioners and scholars from around the world will work alongside each other to develop their public diplomacy tool-kit. Core principles of listening, advocacy, and soft-power are reviewed and implementation classes such as strategic and crisis communication, evaluation, digital diplomacy, nation/place branding, framing and designing public diplomacy strategies, provide participants with valuable hands-on learning opportunities.
Taught by some of the world’s most distinguished public diplomacy experts, the Summer Institute attracts participants of the highest caliber from a wide range of public diplomacy career fields including foreign ministries, intelligence and economics agencies, military, media, defense and homeland security, public relations, and the private sector.
Graduates of the Summer Institute hail from a number of international organizations including the African Union, the British Council, CENTCOM, ECOWAS, Israel Defense Forces, the United Nations and the World Bank. Almost 30 countries have been represented over the past seven years, including Brazil, Canada, Ghana, India, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, the Netherlands, Rwanda, South Africa, Taiwan, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates and the United States.
