KEEP READINGMeet the 2015 -2016 CPD Contributing Scholars
CPD is pleased to announce Senem Cevik and Damien Spry as the 2015-2016 Contributing Scholars who will be contributing to two of the Center's research initiatives: Rising Soft Power in Emerging Markets and Public Diplomacy Performance and Evaluation in the Digital Age.
Senem Cevik is an Assistant Professor at Ankara University's Center for the Study and Research of Psychology and a visiting research scholar at The Olive Tree Initiative project at UC Irvine's Center on Conflict Resolution. She is an associate member of the International Dialogue Initiative (IDI), and an alumna of CPD's Summer Institute in Public Diplomacy (Class of 2013). Dr. Cevik's research foci include Turkey's public diplomacy efforts, its role as a rising power, and its position as facilitator between its region and the United States. Her secondary focus is on humanitarian diplomacy and the role of faith-based Turkish NGOs in the country's foreign aid framework.
Damien Spry is Assistant Professor in Communications at Hanyang University, Seoul, South Korea and an Honorary Associate at the University of Sydney, Australia, where he received his PhD. His research focuses on global digital societies and international communication, including mobile media and digital diplomacy. His current research projects examine the impact of digital transformations on public diplomacy strategies and campaigns conducted in Asia, particularly South Korea, by non-Asian governments and national institutions.
