Cambridge University has come under pressure to reveal the identity of a mysterious Chinese foundation that is donating £3.7 million for a new professorship, amid fears that the pressure to raise funds may have exposed it to backdoor diplomacy by Beijing, which granted China an opportunity to deploy "soft power".

Several schools aiming to foster cultural understanding between U.S. and China have turned to virtual exchange programs between American and Chinese schools. Such schools received financial assistance from Hanban, a Chinese institution affiliated with the Chinese Ministry of Education, as well as the Confucius Institute at Michigan State University.

Korea announced plans to promote Korean traditional culture on Monday. “K-drama started hallyu in 1995 and K-pop has been continuing its popularity since the mid-2000s.
