The digital revolution has had a massive impact on the practice of foreign policy, revealing challenges and opportunities for modern diplomacy. But where is the line drawn between confidentiality and transparency?

Every country’s foreign policy has elements of continuity and change following a change in government. India’s policy under Mr. Modi is no different.  The fourth change is a greater emphasis on ‘soft power’. 

The government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has fuelled a spike in social media and interest in his government and its policies, including foreign policy.

India’s economy could be a catalyst for development if the region can open up.(...) Modi’s foreign policy, like that of many of his predecessors, is greatly reliant on South Asia. India’s role in the larger world has often been constrained by turmoil in its neighborhood. 

Jakarta needs a strategy that attracts greater ties with countries of the Middle East.
