Derek Moscato is associate professor of journalism and public relations at Western Washington University. His research examines the confluence of strategic communication, global media, and environmentalism, with a focus on the Pacific Rim and the Arctic. Moscato is a research fellow with the WWU Border Policy Research Institute and the Page Center for Integrity in Public Communication. He received his PhD from the University of Oregon's School of Journalism and Communication.
