In this week’s PD News roundup, headlines explored the public diplomacy benefits of bilateral cooperation. China and Russia announced plans for a joint Arctic exploration project later this year, and a recent agreement between the governments of the Philippines and Vietnam has laid the groundwork for “economic, agricultural, defense and maritime engagement.” Other strategic alliances were made between Iran and Europe, and through China’s “Silk Road” initiatives with more than 60 countries in Asia, Africa and Europe.
