Kendal is a recent graduate of the University of Southern California with a B.A. in Communication and a minor in International Relations. She is currently volunteering at the UNESCO Regional Office in Dakar, Senegal while studying French and Wolof as a Boren Scholarship recipient.
During her time as an undergraduate, Kendal gained writing experience through many different work environments such as an internship at the public relations firm Weber Shandwick, a media internship at Control Arms Coalition and through her position as a junior correspondent at the USC publication, Glimpse from the Globe.
Kendal began at CPD in 2017 and has since worked in a number of different roles including Events and Programming Intern, Editorial Assistant and Blog Contributor. Her interest in public diplomacy stems from her studies in communication and how it can be used as a tool to increase cooperation on global challenges.
Kendal will be living in Dakar until June 2020 and is currently providing communication support to a UNESCO initiative to promote education on climate change and violent extremism throughout West Africa.
