The government today has made a shocking announcement which has an immense impact on India’s foreign policy. The All India Radio which runs numerous regional language channels is all set to air a Balochi language programme which can be heard by the Baloch people living in Pakistan’s Balochistan province.

Ethiopia Plans to Be One of World’s Top Tourism Destinations

The tide is turning for Ethiopia’s tourism industry, as the Ethiopian Ministry of Culture and Tourism recently announced it plan to triple the number of foreign visitors, to more than 2.5 million, by 2020, with an ultimate goal of making Ethiopia one of Africa’s top five tourist destinations [by 2020 says a journalist from Daily Mail.

Philippines' Sets Delicious Kitchen Diplomacy in Motion

The Philippines is strengthening its ties with the UAE and this time around, they want the bonding to happen in the kitchen. To promote their cuisine among Emiratis and other UAE residents, the Philippine Consulate recently donated Filipino cookbooks to the Dubai Public Library [...] "The distribution of cookbooks showcasing Filipino cuisine is part of our efforts to further bring together the UAE and the Filipino expat community,"

How Egypt Plans to 'Return to Africa'

Representatives from Egypt, other African nations and Japan met in Nairobi, Kenya, for the launch of the sixth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) Summit. According to TICAD’s official website, the conference aims to highlight the importance and urgency of development issues in the African continent, as well as to “promote high-level policy dialogue between African leaders and development partners.”

Soliga Women Set to Collaborate with International Musicians

Strisvara, an all-women musicand cultural exchange project, will take place in Bengaluru come September 10. Organized by Arun Sivag and NH Subhash Gowda — the 18-day residency and concert tour programme will see female musicians from the US, Sweden, Spain and Nepal engage in music with independent Indian artistes, along with those from native Soliga tribe of Biligirirangana Hills.

Unleashing Diaspora Potential

In New Jersey, an eastern US state, the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) held its 9th regional conference that was attended by Nepalis from around the world. From a small community that was trying to establish its identity and get access to dual citizenship and the opportunities accompanying it, the NRNA has grown into a larger organisation with multiple issues to deal with.
