Educating China's Future Leaders: Local Impact of Global Knowledge

Americans and Chinese make friends with one another easily, and any program that brings them together is to be encouraged; there is no substitute for face-to-face conversations, which can so effectively break down stereotyping and facilitate deeper understandings. [...] I would like to see the U.S. and China jointly develop programs that use the media – both traditional and social – to enable people-to-people diplomacy to reach broader audiences.

Indonesia Channel; Art, Culture Performances Amazed Audience

Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi on her speech said, “ I am very proud of all these youth who are coming from 41 different countries in Asia, Pacific, Europe, and America.” She also stated that the Indonesian government is always used Cultural diplomacy or soft power diplomacy to bridge the differences. This program is aimed at strengthening the friendship and diplomatic relations through art and culture.

Int'l Youth Summer School to Draw Innovation Ideas

he annual International Youth Summer School was brought to China by the Youth Time International Movement, which was founded in December 2010 in Prague. It seeks to bridge communication among different cultures and different age groups. The previous five summer camps were all held in European cities.

Cav Soldiers Experience Korean Culture

Soldiers got the opportunity to visit cultural sites and learn about the unique history of Korea during a two-day cultural trip hosted by the city of Dongducheon, South Korea. India-Hong Kong Health Diplomacy in Need of Reforms

Increasing number of Indians add value to enhance Hong Kong’s tourism and also at times to strengthen academic ties and trade. [...] Today diplomatic ties between Hong Kong and India have promoted growth in sectors of investment finance, education, culture, shipping and trade. Health diplomacy has continued to be side-lined and little has been understood by Hong Kong’s immigration officers.

Rio Goes Gold, Silver, Bronze and Green

The Olympic Games are all about athletics and sportsmanship, for sure. But this year’s games in Rio have also put a spotlight on the environment. Sustainability is playing a big part [...] All the athletes got a chance to plant seedlings native to Brazil in silver containers on the stadium floor. After the Olympics is over, the seeds will be replanted in west Rio de Janeiro, where they will grow in a new “Athletes’ Forest.”
