China’s diplomacy seems largely about sending other countries pandas. Luckily, it seems like every country really wants pandas. Spider diplomacy, for instance, would not work, though undoubtedly is being considered by North Korea. These two pandas arrived in Malaysia and now Malaysia loves China even more.

Have MFAs Realized the Potential of Digital Diplomacy?

The migration of ministries of foreign affairs (MFAs) to social media is by no means a new occurrence. Indeed, the Israeli, Swedish, and American MFAs have been active on Twitter for nearly a decade. It may therefore be time to investigate if MFAs have mastered the use of social media to attain diplomatic goals—be it conversing with foreign populations, gathering information on other nations' foreign policies, or narrating a coherent national image.

Legendary Architect Frank Gehry Honored for Diplomacy through the Arts

On Monday, legendary architect Frank Gehry received the 2016 Leonore and Walter Annenberg Award for Diplomacy through the Arts at a dinner hosted by Secretary of State John Kerry in Washington, D.C. Presented by the Foundation for Art and Preservation in Embassies (FAPE) [...] The award recognizes individuals who bring global audiences together through their contributions to the arts.

'Leave Taiping Issue Alone'

In recent months, Taiwan has been taking steps via public diplomacy and public relations to bolster its argument that Taiping is naturally capable of habitation and is thus an island. Last month, it invited the international media to visit the island, where goats roam and fresh well water is available.

How to Make the State Department More Effective at Implementing U.S. Foreign Policy

The State Department, however, is not nearly as effective as it should be, to the detriment of American standing and effectiveness in the world. EXPO 2017 Delegation Visits APEC Member Countries

A Kazakh delegation headed by EXPO 2017 Commissioner Rapil Zhoshybayev travelled to Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) member countries Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore during the first half of April.
