The USC Center on Public Diplomacy is proud to announce the selection of the first CPD Research Fellows: Kathy Fitzpatrick, Iskra Kirova, and Cynthia Schneider. The three fellows, selected from a competitive pool of international applicants, will serve a two-year term.

CPD Perspectives on Public Diplomacy, a new series of papers on public diplomacy, debuts with an essay by the Center's Director Philip Seib on AFRICOM and Public Diplomacy.

CPD is proud to announce the release of Toward a New Public Diplomacy: Redirecting U.S. Foreign Policy. Edited by CPD Director Philip Seib, the book is a compilation of essays on reinventing American public diplomacy and foreign policy.

Robert Banks joins the USC Center on Public Diplomacy at the Annenberg School as its U.S. Public Diplomat in Residence for the 2009-2010 term.

CPD University Fellow Nicholas Cull will deliver the presentation "Public Diplomacy: What Should Korea Do?" on August 13, at the 2nd Korea Foundation International Conference on Nation Branding in Jeju, Korea.

CPD Director Philip Seib delivered the opening keynote entitled "Transnational Journalism, Public Diplomacy and Virtual States" at a July conference sponsored by the International Communication Association and the University of Melbourne.
