The Allure of American Universities Abroad

In a new book published by the American University in Cairo Press, editors Ted Purinton and Jennifer Skaggs look at the establishment of universities around the world modeled after their American counterparts. "These universities capitalize on either the brand of an existing university, or the brand of American higher education as a whole," they note. "...Even though American universities at home face political, financial, and educational challenges...they are increasingly demanded as transplanted universities abroad."
