Smith-Mundt Modernization Act of 2010
On July 13, US Congressmen Mac Thornberry (TX-13) and Adam Smith (D-WA), both members of the House Intelligence and Armed Services Committees, introduced “The Smith-Mundt Modernization Act of 2010” (H.R. 5729), a bipartisan bill to revise an outdated restriction that interferes with the United States’ diplomatic and military efforts.

Chinese Cultural troupe to perform at biggest Pan-African Dance Festival in Kigali
A Chinese Cultural troupe is set to participate in the week-long Pan-Africa's festival of dance (FESPAD) in Kigali, capital of Rwanda scheduled to kick off on July 24. Managing Director of FESPAD Emmanuel Bugingo told Xinhua in Kigali on Wednesday that the Chinese Cultural troupe will join other dance troupes from 31 Africa countries, and will have several concerts and exhibitions till July 31 in Kigali, Butare, Rubavu and Rusizi.
Syria, Venezuela bolstering tourism cooperation
Syrian Minister of Tourism, Saadallah Agha al-Qalaa has discussed with his Venezuelan counterpart Alejandro Fleming means of bolstering the tourist relations between Syria and Venezuela. Talks also dealt with the possibility of exchanging tourist delegations and expertise in a way that contributes to the formation of an integrated tourist system between the two countries.
Getting Jesuitical in Shanghai
The recently opened Tushanwan Museum features a contrast that is pure Shanghai: a 1930s advertising poster of a sultry, qipao-clad siren next to an austere painting of Jesus. Both are legacies of the city's Jesuit Tushanwan Orphanage and its attached arts and crafts academy, which helped to introduce Western art into China.

Jamaica is to open an embassy in Kuwait City, the capital and largest city of the Arab emirate of Kuwait, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Dr Kenneth Baugh has announced.
