Turkey’s Ever Expanding ‘Helping Hand’ Over Latin America

It is well known that Turkey has expanded its soft power through international aid, which was about $3.4 billion in 2012. It is quite likely more than that now. Regarding a specific case, in September 2014, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), and the Mexican Agency for International Development (AMEXCID) on close cooperation in terms of regional and international aid projects.

Obama's Megawatt Diplomacy Is Great News For Sub-Saharan Africa

 Obama is rightly emphasizing the reality that electricity is an input into nearly every good and service in households, villages, towns and national economies. A region in which 600 million out of 960 million are without power cannot possibly ignite, expand or sustain economic growth and development. And that is why the President decided to do something about it -- launching what I have baptized Obama's Megawatt Diplomacy that aims to build no less than 30,000 megawatts in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA).

UAE Named World’s Largest Humanitarian Donor

The country has made a historic leap after being named the world’s biggest donor, said Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister.  In August, the UAE was unofficially named the world’s largest donor of development assistance in proportion to its gross national income (GNI).

Scandinavia Not Top for Tourism

Bloom Consulting’s fourth edition of their survey uses six objectives (or dimensions). These are attraction of investment (trade), attraction of tourism, and attraction of talent.  Strengthening national pride (increase of national pride), strengthening public diplomacy (increase of public diplomacy efforts), and strengthening exports (increase of exports) are considered as well.
