Amity Attends First China-Africa Public Diplomacy Forum

We Need to Step Up Efforts to Stem Muslim Youth Radicalization

Part of the problem is that Muslim communities have yet to develop political literacy. They can learn much from non-governmental organizations about facilitating discussion, debate, building alliances, and forging constructive action. A few notable initiatives are under way. For example, the Noor Cultural Centre in Toronto regularly sponsors lectures and discussions about contemporary issues.

Hong Kong NGO Partners International Body to Fight Domestic Violence

A local women’s rights advocacy group has teamed up with an international foundation in a three-year programme to reach out to victims of domestic violence in the city. That includes new arrivals from the mainland, the lesbian community and young students who suffered from what was called “dating violence”, said Linda To Kit-lai, founding member and executive director of HER Fund, a Hong Kong-based non-governmental organisation.
