UAE Participates in Morocco's Tan Tan Moussem Festival

The UAE's Al Ayalla group has held its first performance for the Saharan Bedouin festival, Tan Tan Moussem, taking place from 5th to 10th May in the southern region of Morocco. A 200-strong Emirati delegation, headed by the Cultural Programmes and Heritage Festivals Committee - Abu Dhabi, has returned for the fourth year as a special guest at the annual festival celebrating the heritage of Sahrawi tribes.

Georgian, Estonian Gov'ts Cooperate to Improve Georgia's Education System

A new national curriculum for primary grades based on the Estonian experience will upgrade pre-school and general education in Georgia. The three year partnership between Georgia and Estonia aims at transforming education in Georgia by introducing innovations and digital technologies in education process. [...] This cooperation will consist of technical support, capacity development and exchange of experts and experience sharing.

Global Problems Can Be Solved Through Intercultural Dialogue

Many events occur in the world today and such events as the World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue can be useful for solving global problems, Hungarian Minister of State for Cultural and Science Diplomacy Istvn Jgyrt told Trend. He made the remarks on the sidelines of the 4th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue in Baku May 5. "The forum is extremely important," Jgyrt said. "Without a dialogue it is impossible to go forward. The forum should continue to bring people together."

Saudi Aid to Yemen in Two Years Stands at $8.2 Billion

The Saudi foreign ministry published an infographic that shows the size of aid which the Saudi kingdom has provided to Yemen since April 2015 until April 2017. Saudi Arabia has provided $8.2 billion during this phase. The amount has been divided on different sectors. The development sector received the biggest share worth $2.9 billion while aid to the legitimate Yemeni government was worth $2.2 billion.

Madrid Fusión Manila 2017 Cooks its Way to Sustainability

For more than 300 years, Spain and Philippines shared a deep history in food. Colonizing the Philippines from 1521 to 1898, the Spaniards brought to the country not only Catholicism but also its cuisine and meticulous cooking methods, something that is still evident in Filipino kitchens, especially during feasts. It’s not surprising to see lechon, paella, [...] during birthdays and Christmases—all of which are adaptations of dishes passed down from Spain to its former colony.

CZECH-GERMAN RELATIONS IN THE EUROPEAN CONTEXT

On April the 3rd 2017, a historic trilateral meeting took place at the Bundeskanzleramt, the German Federal Chancellor’s workplace in Berlin. Chancellor Angela Merkel met with her Czech and Slovak counterparts – the Prime Ministers Bohuslav Sobotka and Robert Fico – to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the German-Czechoslovak Neighbourhood Treaty, which was signed on February the 27th in 1992.

Social media has changed the face of diplomacy and governments must adapt to their loss of control over information, a US state department official says. Richard Buangan, managing director for international media engagement, said times had changed with the public’s growing access to information and news worldwide.
